A workshop entitled (multi-agency cooperation and the importance of the role of the Financial Intelligence Unit/AML/CFT Offices)

Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Council and under the supervision of the Director General of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Office. A workshop entitled (multi-agency cooperation and the importance of the role of the Financial Intelligence Unit/AML/CFT Offices) was held in cooperation between the AML/CFT Office and the European Union Mission on April 14 and 15, 2024, held at the Al Rashid Hotel, in which international experts participated. Speakers from the office and in the presence of several relevant parties, and the workshop included the following topics: –

 

  1. 1. Exchanging experiences regarding cooperation mechanisms between law enforcement agencies and how to benefit from the information provided by the Financial Intelligence Unit in analyzing and investigating the crime and providing information received from financial investigation units in the world via the Egmont network or through other means of communication.

 

  1. Virtual currencies and their service providers, exchanging experiences regarding the crime detection mechanism, and reviewing some practical cases that have been reached by some law enforcement agencies and financial intelligence units of the European Union.

The workshop aims to intensify efforts by specialists in predicate crimes with financial returns and direct coordination with the office for the purpose of reducing money laundering and terrorist financing crimes.
